Performing close-up at Monday Night Magic is a fun way to spend an evening in New York, but it was even moreso this time! In the audience were Amy Tan (author of The Joy Luck Club) as well as two of my favorite performers of all time: famed pianist/vocalist Michael Feinstein, and comedian/playwright/actor Steve Martin!

After the show we (the cast and crew) went out for dinner, and Mr. Martin and his party accompanied us. Good times!
We left NYC yesterday, got home late last night (actually, early this morning) — a very long drive indeed, but the trip was worth the effort.

My assistant Erin and I drove up to New York yesterday, planning some sightseeing in the city this morning and then back down to Ocean City this evening. Thinking about perhaps dropping by the Guggenheim Museum today, and hopefully the Drama Book Shop.
For future reference, it’s better to pay the tolls and come up I-95. For a change of pace we took the I-81 route this time and avoided all the tolls. While the drive was scenic at times, it got old quick.
My Latvian goddaughter Vika is coming to America tonight for a month-long visit — can’t wait to get home to see her!

Atlanta is great, but during the summer it’s nice to have some shows that take you northward!
After a show tonight at Grove Pointe Church in Covington, GA, I’ll spend the holiday weekend making final preparations for my trip to the northeast next week. I’ll be speaking at Ocean City Tabernacle on Saturday morning and performing there on Sunday morning and Sunday evening, then making an appearance at Monday Night Magic in New York on July 14.
