March 2010: Conference in Hungary, vacation in Austria, back to work in Atlanta

My appearance at the SHARE Educational Services conference in Sopron, Hungary was really a combination of performing, teaching, and speaking. I delivered programs for all three age groups at the conference: kids, teens, and adults. Sopron is a charming city that dates back to Roman times, and we had a fantastic time exploring. (If you are on Facebook, connect with me on my personal page and you can view some more photos.)
My wife Rosemary and I were a little concerned about making it to Sopron on time when we had a hiccup with our connection in Paris, but it all worked out (with five minutes to spare!) and we made it with no problem. Fortunately the flights back were not plagued with the same difficulties. Flying on e-tickets is convenient, but when you are transferring from carrier to carrier to carrier, your risk of complication increases dramatically without printed tickets!
At the end of the week-long conference Rosemary and I spent a couple of days in beautiful Vienna, Austria — we fell in love with the city and can’t wait to return. Vienna is simultaneously cozy and grand, and I had a great time using my college German again. (Actually, I needed the German more in Hungary than in Austria as most places in the city had English-speaking staff.)
Back in the USA on Monday night March 8, I jumped back into the groove with a networking meeting on the morning of the 9th! I had two great events this weekend and am pumped about the multiple speaking engagements coming up this week. I will also be back at the Tongue & Groove nightclub this Thursday night – if you’re in Atlanta and would like to be on my guest list for complimentary admission, contact me via my Facebook fan page.
